Oak Brook, IL – 12-10-25: Two patent-pending rigid couplings from ASC Engineered Solutions are now available that will revolutionize fire safety piping system installations. The new SPF Anvil Fig. C9-CL and Gruvlok Fig. FP74CL rigid couplings feature brand new Sabertooth™ Installation Technology, allowing for quick and accurate visual and tactile installation verification.
FM Approved and UL Listed, the Fig. C9-CL and the Fig. FP74CL offer the fastest and easiest grooved fire system joint installation on the market today. A touch or quick look allows installing contractors to know instantly that the coupling is installed properly, even in dark or tight spaces, overhead or behind ductwork, and then move on with confidence.
The new innovative coupling design aims to improve upon vague indicators of other designs such as “positive offset” or “pad gap”. All it takes is for the installer to run their fingers across the indicator surfaces to know the coupling is properly tightened and ready for service. As an added benefit, the new indicator helps reduce the chances of overtightening or overstressing bolts.
The all-new CenterLOK™ gasket for the Fig. C9CL and the Fig. FP74CL ensures proper alignment with the pipe end grooves to allow for clean, easy two-handed placement of the couplings on the end of the pipe.
